Kiku Pattern Workshop

Elevate your sashiko skills with the exclusive Kiku (Chrysanthemum) pattern workshop!

The Kiku (Chrysanthemum) pattern is my go-to for hand towels and handkerchiefs. It's easy to make, yet the finished product has a sophisticated look. This pattern is perfect for attaching a loop to your existing hand towels to make them more practical and give them an elegant touch at the same time. It's also ideal for reinforcing any corners on your fabric.

In this intermediate class, you will stitch a handkerchief using the Kiku pattern. It's a great opportunity to practice achieving a sashiko pattern that looks beautiful on both sides of the fabric without using knots. You'll refine your skills in Sashiko Unshin (運針) — the needle movement, learn how to plan your sewing route and understand how to extend your thread seamlessly.

You will work on authentic Japanese sarashi fabric, taking home a beautiful handkerchief and new skills.
